Races

Human

  • The Man: Humans start with one free edge at character creation.
  • Luck: Humans start with the Luck edge for free (one extra benny at start of each session)

Dwarf

  • Stubborn: Dwarves start character creation with d6 Spirit instead of d4.
  • Thermal Vision: half penalties (round down) for bad lighting vs living targets.
  • Iron Stomach: +4 to Vigor rolls to resist disease or poisons
  • Techy: start play with d6 in one skill:
    • Driving, Knowledge (any technical area), Hacking, Lockpicking, Piloting or Repair
  • Stubby Legs: Pace 5

Elf

  • Graceful: Elves start character creation with d6 Agility instead of d4.
  • Attractive: Elves start with the Attractive edge for free (+2 Charisma).
  • Low-light vision: no penalties for Dim and Dark lighting
  • Pasty: Elves start with the Anemic hindrance (-2 from all Fatigue checks)

Orc

  • Tough: Orcs start character creation with d6 Vigor instead of d4.
  • Strong: Orcs start character creation with d6 Strength instead of d4.
  • Low-light vision: no penalties for Dim and Dark lighting
  • Outsider: Orcs start with the Outsider hindrance (-2 Charisma except with Orcs)

Troll

  • Very Strong: Trolls start creation with d8 Strength instead of d4 (up to d12+2 at creation)
  • Tough: Trolls start creation with d6 Vigor instead of d4.
  • Even Tougher: +1 Toughness
  • Thermal Vision: ½ penalties (round down) for bad lighting vs living targets.
  • Thick: Smarts requires 2 points per step during creation and 2 advances to raise during play
  • Ugly: Trolls start with the Ugly hindrance (-2 Charisma, shunned by opposite gender)
